A Year of War in Ukraine

A hard back, hand-made, concertina highlighting the events of the first year of war in Ukraine. With a distinctive highlight on the lives, and deaths, of civilians within the country. The concertina format represented the timeline of events that have occurred, and are still on-going, within the country.

FINAL BOOK FORMATION

This was submission to the International Society of Typographic Designers (ISTD), a professional body run by and for typographers, designers and educators. The book aimed to use a combination of striking type manipulation, accentuating colours and devastating imagery to bring to light the difficulties being faced in Ukraine.

The distressed and battered direction the type style resonates throughout the publication, is an representation of the situation and parallels the themes highlighted within.
